Daisy

Image - Daisy

Title: “Daisy in Vase”
Dimensions: 7″x5″
Medium: Oil

You haven’t heard from me lately because I’ve been traveling again, this time to California. We were gone for a week, and it took two more days to get back to the East Coast. We had a wonderful trip but it’s really good to be back home.

I occasionally need a break from painting in my studio, so I go out and get fresh air. Sometimes I paint “plein air” that is directly outside looking at my subject. You’ll see some of this in my upcoming work. One day while walking about I came upon a bunch of wild flowers. I thought it would make a lovely subject so I picked a couple – a daisy and a little buttercup. I brought them back to my studio where I could experiment with lighting, then painted it!
