Title: “Incognito”
Dimensions: 6″x6″
Medium: Oil
This gal was going to be out in the sun most of the day and was well prepared. What caught my attention about her look was the contrast of the “fashionista” hat and cool dark shades with her very casual golf shirt and khaki pants.
The sun was so strong it bounced off her shirt and reflected back under the hat to her face. It added a glow to her skin that you can clearly see on her neck, jaw line and to a lesser extent the tip of her nose and ear.

Title: “Lead Dog”
Dimensions: 6″x6″
Medium: Oil
If I am taking a photo reference for a painting I’ll complete later; invariably there is someone looking right into the lens. It just happens – you hold a camera up and someone looks. In this case it was the dog on the left looking straight at me.
What attracts me to this composition is the melange of feet on the right; the people’s feet the dogs feet (paws), and the shadow feet are all together. In the clearing on the left is the English Setter, and look at his stance. He is taking a rest but is definately the “Lead Dog”.

Title: “Candy – II”
Dimensions: 5″x5″
Medium: Oil
I love the way this painting looks very contemporary and classic at the same time. The red and white candy is bold and bright yet the background darker and subtle.
What I find really interesting about this is the reflection of the candy. It is sitting on a very reflective surface causing me to paint the item twice each with a slightly different view.
