Below is a short progress video showing different stages of the painting before it was finished.

I started by creating a paper sculpture. Then it needed some interesting shadows so I placed it inside my still life box and adjusted the lighting. Once I had it where I wanted it, I drew directly on the canvas with paint and brush in burnt umber to get my basic shapes and values. You’ll see a few adjustments were made along the way.
